A letter to Suzanne’s Clients
Dear Client:
I am pleased to announce that I have affiliated my practice with Cindy Luhman, CPA. The first step in this affiliation is for Cindy to move into my office space. This process began in October and should give us enough time to have things running smoothly before January 1, 2021. Cindy and I will be working together during the upcoming tax season. This combination is the first step in my journey towards retirement.
Cindy grew up on a dairy farm in central Minnesota, graduated with an accounting degree from St. Cloud State University and obtained her Masters of Business Administration from the Carlson School of Business at the University of Minnesota. She has been in public accounting for over 23 years. She started her career at a medium sized accounting firm in Wayzata. Over the years she has worked for two additional firms, and started her own practice in 2005 after moving to Cokato. While working in the twin cities metro area, she was a lead accountant on several larger business audits, reviews, compilations and their corresponding tax returns. Since moving to Wright county, she has focused on smaller business needs such as payroll, bookkeeping, tax planning, and tax preparation for small to medium sized businesses. This is where her passion lies, in assisting local businesses in achieving their goals.
Cindy and her family moved to Cokato in 2004 with the desire to raise their kids in a small community with a good selection of schools in the area, and within a decent commute to the twin cities. The small hobby farm they found just north of Cokato checked all those boxes. This area has so much to offer, and that is what drew them here.
Outside of the office, Cindy enjoys spending time with her family, camping, horseback riding, hunting, working on projects and doing chores on their farm.
The combination of our offices will allow Cindy and I to provide you with the same great service you have experienced, allow for needed upgrades in our infrastructure, a better utilization of space and a much-needed upgrade in internet speeds.
Although things are changing, many things will remain the same. Such as the physical location, the mailing address and telephone number. There will be a few minor changes. First is a new email address. To reach me, please use suzanne@luhmantax.com. My old email address is still active, but will be phased out over the next few months. You can reach Cindy at cindy@luhmantax.com.
A drop box will be affixed just outside our front door. You may use it to drop information off after hours, or if you prefer a contactless method of communication during the pandemic.
Due to the ever changing COVID restrictions, planning for the upcoming tax season is challenging, but we will strive to remain fluid so that we can adjust as needed to keep you and our families safe during this time. It is our hope that we will be able to have face to face appointments available. If you prefer, you can drop off your information, or mail it to us. We are also investing in technology to allow for the secure transfer of data over the internet through a client portal. If you are interested in using this technology, please contact us so we can get you set up. Our goal is to provide you with the same great service you are used to regardless of the method of communication.
In a few weeks we will be sending out the individual tax organizers. If you prefer to receive it by email, please let us know soon. Please use the organizer to gather your tax documents for 2020. There are many changes in the tax code this year, and the organizer is designed to help gather information regarding these new changes.
If you have questions about your particular tax situation, would like to schedule a time to discuss some year end planning, or to discuss this new affiliation and what it means for you, please call. I appreciate the many years you have trusted me with your accounting and tax needs. I am excited for the journey ahead, and look forward to seeing you soon.
Sincerely,
Suzanne J. Kaczmarek, CPA
